30,000 Tons Annual Processing Capacity! Boretech Empowers Chiripal's PET Bottle-to-Bottle Project in India
2026-4-30
The PET bottle-to-bottle project jointly launched by Boretech and Chiripal Group in India entered trial operation in early April 2026. This project includes Boretech's complete ES process washing, food-grade pelletizing, and solid-state polycondensation (SSP) systems, with a PET bottle washing line capacity of 30,000 tons per year and an hourly output of 2,000 KG of food-grade rPET pellets.
Core Process: Integrated Design Enhancing Efficiency and Quality
In the washing stage, Boretech's ES process is built around modularization and process integration. It reduces floor space by nearly one-quarter, the intensive washing technology improves downstream pelletizing filtration performance by 25%, on-line labor requirements are reduced by one-third, and energy consumption per ton of finished product is lowered by 13.3%. In the pelletizing and SSP stages, through the coordinated operation of pretreatment, specially designed screws, and a pelletizing system, combined with continuous solid-state polycondensation, the molecular weight of the recycled material is enhanced to meet food-grade standards. The washing, pelletizing, and SSP processes are directly connected to form a highly integrated production line, ensuring product quality and safety.

Boretech's PET bottle-to-bottle recycling process received No Objection Letters (NOL) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2023 and 2025, as well as a positive scientific opinion from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in 2025, making it the first Chinese company to hold both EFSA and FDA certifications as a full-process solution and equipment supplier for PET bottle-to-bottle food-grade recycling. The rPET pellets produced by this production line are suitable for direct food contact applications.
About Chiripal Group: Strategic Expansion Across Diverse Sectors
Founded in Ahmedabad, India in 1972, the Chiripal Group has grown into a large-scale conglomerate with diversified operations spanning textiles, packaging, renewable energy, chemicals, education, and infrastructure, holding a significant position in both the Indian and international markets. As a producer of virgin chips and BOPET films, Chiripal decided to invest in a PET bottle-to-bottle project to meet its customers' dual demand for both virgin and recycled PET, ultimately selecting Boretech based on its proven technological strength in the industry.
Boretech's Presence in the Indian Market: Local Expertise Combined with Global Certifications
Boretech holds over 80% market share in India's PET bottle recycling and recovery sector and continues to deepen its local presence. On February 2, 2026, Boretech India officially opened for business, further strengthening its local technical service capabilities and enabling more efficient response to on-site project needs.
With experience from more than 78 washing line projects in India, Boretech has developed deep insights into local feedstock characteristics, effectively addressing challenges such as high levels of sediment, shrink sleeves, and aluminum caps.
Project Realization: Cost Reduction and Efficiency Gains, Aligned with Policy Upgrades
Leveraging the integrated production model, the project meets U.S. FDA requirements while effectively lowering investment costs and enhancing profitability, providing a strong boost to India's recycled PET production capacity. As the project advances, it is expected to further increase PET bottle recycling rates in India, create additional employment opportunities, and deliver positive environmental impact.
India's amended Plastics Waste Management Rules set clear timelines for recycled content and recovery rates for rigid plastic packaging. The interim targets for 2025-2026—30% recycled content and 60% recovery rate—have already begun to exert substantial market impact. Against this backdrop, Boretech will continue to leverage its technological and market strengths to provide more recycling and recovery solutions for the Indian market, supporting local industrial upgrading and sustainable development.
