Boretech's Zambia food-grade recycled PET project has started operation
2025-5-23

Under the wave of globalization and sustainable development, Boretech, as a leading company in the field of plastic recycling, has always been committed to providing global customers with efficient and environmentally friendly recycling and regeneration solutions. Recently, the food-grade PET bottle recycling and washing line project that we successfully cooperated with our Zambian partner WH on has started operation, marking that Boretech's technical strength and service quality in the African market have been recognized again.
In recent years, the Zambian government has actively promoted the green circular economy, especially encouraging the development of the renewable resources industry. Under this policy background, WH, as a forward-looking local enterprise, plans to invest in the construction of a complete industrial chain covering the production of food-grade recycled PET bottle flakes to meet local and international market needs.
Boretech provides WH with a PET bottle recycling and washing line with a traditional hot washing process, and the cleanliness of the bottle flakes meets food-grade standards. The food-grade PET bottle flakes produced by this cleaning line will be paired with downstream Austria Starlinger pelletizing equipment for further processing into high-quality recycled food-grade pellets. Some of these pellets are used to produce drinking water packaging bottles to achieve a "bottle-to-bottle" closed-loop cycle; the other part will be provided to global brand owners as a sustainable raw material quality choice.
In order to improve production management efficiency, the project is equipped with SCADA (data acquisition and monitoring system) to achieve real-time monitoring and intelligent management of the production process, help customers optimize operations, reduce energy consumption, and further ensure the consistency of product quality.
During the project execution, the two teams worked closely together. The adaptability of Boretech's equipment, localized service support and professional cooperation of WH ensured the efficient advancement of the project. At present, the production line has been put into operation.
The Zambia project is not only another successful case of Boretech in the African market, but also a large-scale project covering food-grade recycled PET in the local area. Its implementation will promote the upgrading of the recycled plastics industry in Zambia and surrounding areas, and at the same time contribute substantially to the global carbon reduction goals.
We look forward to exploring more far-reaching cooperation possibilities with WH. As a practitioner of plastic resource recycling, Boretech is committed to providing high-value recycling and washing solutions for emerging markets and contributing to global low-carbon emission reduction.
